Taking Florasophy can be as easy as stirring your dose into water or juice, but this is not the only way you can get your daily dose of fiber.
We also love it in:
- Chia pudding or oatmeal
- Dipping powder for a ripe banana
- Stirred into your nut butter of choice
Remember, soluble fiber is absorptive! That means that it absorbs moisture. If you leave it in for too long, it will change the consistency of whatever food you added it to. Generally speaking it's best to consume Florasophy immediately after preparing ;)
Finding your perfect dose
Introducing soluble fiber can shift many elements of digestion including motility, transit time, microbiome and stool consistency. Because every body is unique, in most cases dosing should start small and increase gradually. Most of our customers start with 1 teaspoon per day but in more severe conditions such as ulcerative colitis or other inflammatory conditions, it may be necessary to start with an even smaller dose.
For every tablespoon of Florasophy, we recommend increasing water consumption by at least 12 oz.
The perfect dose will vary based on your health conditions and goals. During the initial progressive increase in serving size, if bloating, constipation, or acid reflux are experienced, your dose is too high. Reduce your dose by one teaspoon at a time until symptoms resolve.
